A Samoan family runs it in Waimea Valley on the North Shore; your ticket includes the valley, so you walk the botanical garden to Waimea Falls before the kava ceremony, cooking demo and a feast brought to your table. It feels small and personal. The catch: about an hour's drive from Waikiki and no shuttle. 2. Polynesian Cultural Center Ali'i Luau (★ 4.9, 2,252 reviews). The most authentic cultural experience on Oahu: six island villages, the canoe pageant, the luau with its imu, then the evening show “HA: Breath of Life”. It is a full day in Laie, closed on Sundays. 3. Mauka Warriors Luau (★ 4.8, 3,821 reviews). The best big show with an easy Waikiki shuttle, built around the warrior stories and the fire knife dancers, at Coral Crater in Kapolei.
